DIVERSITY ON TOUR

PLANET DIVERSITY IN YOUR HOME TOWN

We want to offer the possibility of organising events with international delegates of basis initiatives together with us, while the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was taking place in Bonn.

We think, that diversity is more than just a „genetical resource“, that can be frozen, digitalized, or to be just kept well restored in a nature museum. It is a principal of nature, just as the human civilisation, that needs to be defended against mono-cultures and global brands or markets. Especially in the times of global warming, diversity is one of the main keys for survival. “Planet Diversity” wants to create a lively networking between initiatives, self determined organisations and resistance movements from all over the world to show solutions in this important task.

It would be a pity if this diversity of experiance and engagement would just come together in Bonn and we would be happy to encourage you to organise public events in the days before and after „Planet Diversity“ in other cities of the Republic on these topics.

So we, the organisers of “Planet Diversity” are posing the question towards you, if you would be interested to set up such an event on diversity and cooperate with us. What we can offer are contacts to the guests of “Planet Diversity Conference” that might be able to prolong their trip and present their work, stories and experience in other cities and discuss with activists and interested people in your home town. Of course you can present yourself as part of “Planet Diversity” and access our information and presswork, our festival newspaper and our website.

We would anticipate that you would set up the event in your home town and participate in sharing the travelling costs of the delegates within your capacities, but concerning the fact, that so many interesting and professional people are coming from all over the world to Bonn, it is a chance to bring them together with little effort also in your region.

Our idea is to „send on tour“ three or four delegates, one from Germany, one from North America and two from the southern countries. We want to implicate the global contexts with the demands, the situation and the understanding of the German audience.

We are open to proposals from your side. Please let us know, if there is a referent you are specially interested in.

The project of “Diversity on Tour” is very much at the beginning. I would be very happy for a fast respond and I am available for the further figuring out, planning and coordination. It is very important for us to know your interests soon, so we can ask possible speakers early enough if its possible for them to extend their duration of time here complying with possible events here.

Of course everybody is very welcome to participate in the creation of „Planet Diversity“ in Bonn itself.
