International Youth Conference for the Protection of Biological Diversity, 13th - 19th Mai 2008, in Haus Annaberg, Bonn, Germany
In face of the 9th Conference of Parties (COP9) for the Convention of Biological Diversity, the German Youth Association for the Protection of Nature (NAJU) and Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) are planning an international youth conference.

Nature for people not for business
A coalition of social movements and activists' networks (Via Campesina, ASeed, BuKo) calls to protests under the motto "Nature for people, not for business!" We believe that in front of massive environmental destruction resulting from the plundering of resources by corporate interests, the priorities are an immediate end to privatisation and a fair distribution of natural resources in the benefit of local communities.

wird im Anschluss an planet- diversity an einigen Orten Vorträge über ihre Arbeit bei der NGO LESSAN halten. Im lLESSAN ist tätig in der ländlichen Region an den Hängen des aktiven Vulkan Merapi, nahe der Stadt Yogyakarta.

RLS: Natur als Beute
Im Anschluss an »externer Link in neuem Fenster folgtPlanet Diversity« und zwischen den beiden Bonner UN-Konferenzen lädt die Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung am 17./18. Mai 2008 in Berlin zu einem Workshop mit Gästen aus Chile, Mexiko und Mali ein. Die AktivistInnen werden über die Erfahrungen der ersten Woche des UN-Marathons berichten und gemeinsam mit weiteren ReferentInnen aus Deutschland über ihre Erwartungen und gemeinsamen Handlungsmöglichkeiten diskutieren.

Naturathon 2008 – The Course of the World stands for our planet’s biological diversity, in particular for the biological diversity in our cities and metropolitan areas. Biological diversity, which is threatened by the forecasted climate change, is a precondition for the stability of ecosystems worldwide. Therefore, saving biological diversity is a great challenge.

Internationaler Vielfaltsmarkt - IN SAFE HANDS
Der sicherste Ort für die Erhaltung der landwirtschaftlichen und gärtnerischen Vielfalt sind die Felder und Gärten der Bauern und Bäuerinnen der Welt. Sie haben Hunderttausende der Nutzpflanzensorten entwickelt und Tausende Tierrassen. Diese Vielfalt ist weltweit bedroht.
Organisationen aus Peru, Nepal, Bangladesch, Indien, Zimbabwe und Deutschland zeigen, welche Bedeutung diese Vielfalt für die Ernährungs-souveränität hat und was dieses Thema mit der UN Vertragsstaatenkonferenz in Bonn zu tun hat.
Seltene deutsche Haustierrassen werden zu sehen sein und eine Aktion zur Bohnenvielfalt gestartet.
Die Ausstellung ist ergänzt durch Diskussionen, Filme und Vorträge und ein Kinderprogramm. Die Schirmherrschaft für die Veranstaltung hat Sarah Wiener übernommen. Der Eintritt ist frei.
